HUNTING AND FISHING LICENSES

The Town Clerk no longer issues Hunting and Fishing Licenses for the state of Massachusetts.  They can be obtained by visiting https://massfishhunt.mass.gov/.

2024 DOG AND KENNEL LICENSE APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE

2024 dog and kennel license applications are now available below and at Town Hall.  The 2024 license covers July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.  The deadline to apply is June 30, 2024.  A late fee of $10 per dog will be charged for applications received after July 15, 2024.  Fees are as follows:

 

$6.00 per dog - intact male, neutered male, or spayed female

$10.00 per dog -  intact female

$25.00 per kennel - 4 to 10 dogs

$75.00 per kennel - 10 or more dogs

A current rabies certificate must be on file with the Town Clerk or provided at the time of registration. 

 

Due to issues with dog licensing in recent years, the Selectboard has decided that owners will have a fresh start for 2024 and will not be required to pay for past years licenses before the 2024 license can be issued.  If you have any questions, please contact Interim Town Clerk Michelle Fieldstad-Booth at townclerk [at] huntingtonma.us or 413-512-5209.

NOTICE FROM THE TOWN CLERK

 

Nomination Papers for the upcoming Town Election on Saturday, May 11, 2024 are available at the Town Clerk’s office during regular business hours.  The following list of offices is available for Nomination Papers:

Last day to obtain Nomination Papers is Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

All Nomination Papers drawn must be submitted to the Registrars of Voters via Town Clerk by Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 5:00 pm.

 

The last date/time to withdraw or object with Clerk’s Office is Friday, April 5, 2024 at 5:00 pm.

Potential nominees must be registered voters in Huntington for 9 months as of January 1 and must obtain a minimum of 20 valid signatures of registered Huntington voters (we recommend 25+ in case any are invalid due to illegible signatures, addresses, etc).  Please make sure that all signatures and addresses are legible (they may also be printed on same line), as they will be rejected if they are not.

 

The last day to register to vote in this election will be on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Town Clerk’s office during the hours of 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  

 

Early voting will be held in the Town Clerk's office on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 during the hours of 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, May 6, 2024 during the hours of 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

 

Several of the listed posts do not have incumbents running for reelection, so need candidates to avoid vacancies.  Please email townclerk [at] huntingtonma.us () with any questions at your earliest convenience.
